In 2021 I was printing a lot on large formats of paper. To prepare the day before I would make these photoshop sketches that I would then attempt to make completely analog. This usually meant a process with many steps. The problem solving that it required to make an image really kept me going in there week after week.
I think my great grandfather on my dad's side took these pictures during the first world war. From him, my family has a pretty extensive photo album of early 20th century photography in Europe and in Japan. On my mom's side my great grandfather was also a photographer who also left us some beautiful and delicate handmade albums.
