Three weeks ago we moved to Pender Island for more space, more quiet and closer to family. Though we are still busy - and with plenty of stress - there is an air of calm that didn't exist before in our cramped apartment in the city. Just stepping out the door here is escape enough.
The first night in the house we hadn't yet put up the curtains in the bedroom. The forest behind the house was completely illuminated in a dim but harsh white glow and I realized that I hadn't seen moonlight in years. I have become so engrossed in my cocooned reality that my connection to the real real is fractured. Repairing that connection is a happy process.
